The transition to renewable carbon in the chemical and plastics industries is the equivalent to decarbonisation in the energy sector. This transition to alternative carbon sources is needed to fight climate change and shift towards sustainable and climate-friendly production and consumption. In order to provide the full benefits of the technologies supplying renewable carbon, all of them should run on renewable energies in order to avoid additional fossil CO₂ emissions. For CCU the use of renewable energy is indispensable.
