Session on Carbon Capture & Utilisation: 9th Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals

Carbon Capture & Utilisation (CCU) is one essential pillar for the supply of renewable carbon besides biomass and recycling. The transition to direct CO2 utilisation as one alternative carbon source is needed to substitute fossil sources, to fight climate change and to shift towards sustainable and climate-friendly production and consumption.

Meanwhile, over 100 projects on CO2-based fuel and chemical production, as well as efficient capture and utilisation technologies have been launched by several start-ups and established companies, ranging from pilot over demonstration to commercial scale. Even more players show their interest in getting involved in CCU and are increasingly planning and implementing more plants on different scales for Power-to-X technologies, low carbon fuels and a CO2-based chemistry. Great visions are becoming real business cases and innovations are starting to realise their potential!

Learn about the recently launched Renewable Carbon Initiative (RCI) and get a global view on the current state of CO2 utilisation in Europe and the United States from the forerunning experts in this field:

More than 100 participants are already registered – 300 leading international experts in Carbon Capture and Carbon Utilisation (Power-to-X) are expected to attend “9th Conference on CO2-based Fuels and Chemicals”, 23-24 March 2021, online.

The conference is under the patronage of Professor Dr Andreas Pinkwart, Minister of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

nova-Institute would like to thank VTT as a Gold Sponsor, COVESTRO as Silver Sponsor and Axel Semrau as Bronze Sponsor of the conference, as well as YNCORIS for sponsoring the innovation award “Best CO2 Utilisation 2021” and CO2 Value Europe for the co-organisation. We also thank our partner IASA  for supporting our conference.
